Rissho Kosei-kai is one of the world’s leading Buddhist movements.
Its hallmark is the application of Buddhism to everyday life.
While cultivating our own hearts and minds, we endeavor to contribute to the joy of those around us and to the harmony of society.
We respect other religions and cooperate with them toward the common goal of world peace and the uplift of humanity.
Founded in 1938, the organization now has more than one-million-member households and many centers in Japan and abroad.
In recognition of his contributions to the development of religion, Rissho Kosei-kai’s founder, Nikkyo Niwano, was awarded the Templeton Prize, the “Nobel Prize of religion, in” 1979.
In 2001, IBC was established to share the Buddha Dharma with foreign residents of Japan and support their lives.
