Western ikebanists value freedom, thus, tend to challenge all sorts of rules and regulations. However, when we face flowers, we think of the laws of nature that make plants beautiful. In addition, when we try to follow the rules that make the ikebana composition beautiful, we help our mind/heart stay clean and calm.
