Ikebana makes connections with the divine. It means that by doing ikebana, we can feel close to Buddha, Gods, or the Divine Spirit. Strengthening ties with the divine was probably the most important value of this art centuries ago. However, it is difficult to imagine how spiritual people’s daily life was centuries ago.
Ikebana gained a more secular outlook during and after the Meiji Restoration Period.

Friendliness without words. When we are facing flowers, we feel joy. When we share this joy with other people, we give them happiness. Through flowers, we form bonds that transcend language.
