IBC Bon Gathering
Dear Friends
International Buddhist Congregation (IBC) is a Buddhist sangha of Rissho Kosei-kai to share the teachings of Buddhism and the Lotus Sutra
with foreign residents of Japan.
This summer, we are holding “the IBC Bon Gathering” for English speaking foreign members at Fumon Media Center near the Great Sacred Hall.
Bon, or Obon, is a Japanese summer event during which we welcome the spirits of ancestors back home and offer prayers of appreciation to them.
It is our pleasure to invite you, your family, and friends for this bon gathering.
The details are as below.
1) Date and Time: Sunday, August 4th, 2024, from 11am to 1pm
2) Venue: Room #201, Fumon Media Center(FMC) 2F
〒166-8537 2-7-1, Wada, Suginami, Tokyo
If you come by a car, you can park at the Ground-floor Parking of the Horin-kaku Guest Hall.
3) Program:
- Sutra Recitation (English kyoten)
- Dharma Talk: "Basic Buddhism and 'Obon' ～1024 Reasons to Thank Your Ancestors"

- Grand Hoza
- Social Time (Refreshments)
- Bon Dance (in-door)
4) Attire: casual clothing is fine.
5) What to bring: If you have Kyoten(English), Otasuki, and Ojuzu, please bring. If you don’t have them, that is fine.
